Aly S. Hassan, M.D.

Dr. Hassan is assistant professor in the UNMC Department of Psychiatry and is currently working in the Adult Psychiatry division. He obtained his medical degree from Aim-Shams University in Cairo, Egypt in 1995. After initial training in general medicine, he graduated from Brest University Psychiatry Residency program in France in 2002.

He worked as a psychiatrist in public mental health services in the region of Brittany in western France. He received advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy between 2001 and 2003 at Lyon University .He also received training and certification in Hypnosis through the American society of clinical Hypnosis.

He joined the UNMC/CU Psychiatry residency program in 2004 and joined the UNMC faculty after graduation. Dr Hassan is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Dr Hassan practices psychiatry professionally in French, Spanish and Arabic. His primary areas of interest include the practice and teaching of cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnosis, pain management and addiction medicine.
