Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Liu maintains an outpatient practice treating children and adolescents with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and ADHD. He is a frequent commentator on media programs regarding issues in child and adolescent mental health.

Dr. Liu is a career educator and the medical student clerkship director of the UNMC Department of Psychiatry. He is developing expertise in the application of simulation technology to psychiatric education and the development of interprofessional curricula in behavioral health.

Academically, Dr. Liu is an emerging leader in medical education. At UNMC, he serves on several educational committees and was selected as a scholar in the Technology in Educational Scholarship (TiES) Program. At the national level, his educational scholarship has been recognized with awards for innovative curricula and leadership in medical student and resident education. In 2011, he was selected as co-chair of the Clinical Simulation Initiative (CSI) Task Force at the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry (ADMSEP) and is the incoming co-chair of the Training and Education Committee for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).
