Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry serves children and their families who are self-referred or referred by their physician, school or other community resource.

The Child and Adolescent psychiatry team is directed by Christopher Kratochvil, M.D. and includes:

Services are provided in the office with school consultation available. Education and research are other key activities of the division.

Our clinicians also see patients at the UNMC Department of Pediatrics Outpatient Clinic and Village Point Clinic.

Outpatient Services focus on individual and family needs including problems like depression, anxiety, abuse, behavioral problems and autistic spectrum disorders. The patient’s needs are evaluated and care is coordinated with family and primary care physicians as indicated. The goal is to help the patients and their families maximize their functional abilities to be successful in their lives.

Community involvement remains a priority for the division. Psychiatrists serve as consultants to a number of outreach programs including Lutheran Family Services, One World and the Winnebago Tribal Authority.
