Dr. Swanson is Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  He graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with an M.D. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at Sterkfontein Hospital in Krugersdorp, South Africa and at Tara Hospital in Randburg, South Africa.

He is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry.  Dr. Swanson's main interests include Adolescent and Addiction Psychiatry.
