Ms. Zagurski is a therapist/social worker specializing in working with adolescents with anxiety and depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.  She also works with teens and adults who have experienced traumatic events. 

In conjunction with the University Policy Center, she is the primary author of a curriculum to teach community responders basic psychological first aid which has been used to train thousands of responders in Nebraska and across the United States.  The curriculum has been used in Argentina and China.   With Denise Bulling of the Public Policy Center, she co-authored a revised version of Psychological First Aid that is specifically targeted to first responders (PFA-R) and also the Behavioral Health Guidelines for Medical Isolation for Nebraska Hospitals.    Ms. Zagurski was presented with the Lt. Governor's "Be Prepared" award in 2009 for her work in Risk Communication in the state of Nebraska.  She is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.
