Certificate in Infectious Disease Epidemiology
The non-degree Certificate in Infectious Disease Epidemiology will offer instruction on the concepts, methods, and application of epidemiological principles related to infectious diseases. With the growing challenges resulting from the global spread of infectious diseases, practitioners of public health have a greater need for epidemiological tools to identify and control infectious diseases when they appear. This certificate will provide public health practitioners with knowledge and understanding of infectious disease epidemiology, including study design, data collection, analyses, and interpretation of data findings.
The IDE certificate is designed as an 18 credit hour program that can be completed in one academic year as a full-time student or a part-time student can take up to three years to complete. Students in the IDE certificate will first complete foundational course work in epidemiology and biostatistics, followed by more advanced course work in epidemiological design and methods, infectious disease epidemiology, preparedness and emerging infectious disease.
