Before joining the faculty at UNMC, Dr. Pinard completed her doctoral training at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and trained in areas including: childhood obesity treatment in low-income families, measurement and evaluation, dissemination science (i.e., the RE-AIM framework), worksite wellness, tailored internet delivered behavioral health interventions, community-clinical partnerships, and behavioral strategies to promote diet and physical activity. Dr. Pinard’s research interest include obesity prevention in youth, the influence of the home environment and maternal factors on health behaviors, policy and environmental approaches to health promotion, food insecurity, local food systems and health, survey development and evaluation, and health disparities.
