Congratulations and welcome to UNMC’s College of Public Health.

Outlined below is some initial information and requirements to help you get started on the right path at UNMC and in our program.

University Requirements:

1. Please submit your required immunizations to UNMC’s Student Health, no later than July 1, 2013. Complete and submit your required immunization form directly to UNMC Student Health. Further questions please contact Student Health at 402-559-5158 or 402-559-5691.

You will not be able to register until Student Health has processed your form and all supporting documentation.

2. Final official transcripts from all previous institutions attended must be received no later than September 2, 2013.

Failure to send may result in a hold being placed on your UNMC student account.

3. College of Public Health Fast Start Orientation begins May 1, 2013. More information will be sent from the COPH Office of Educational Services.

4. UNMC Outlook account. An email will be sent to the email address you provided on your application with your Outlook account information, as well, as provide you with a temporary password to access. Once you receive, please set up and change your password. Any issues please contact UNMC’s Help Desk at 402-559-7700

Note: Once you receive your Outlook account information, communications from UNMC personnel will be sent to your UNMC email account only. Please check daily, as important information is sent to you.

5. UNMC NU ID. With your Outlook account information you will receive an 8-digit NU ID number. This is your UNMC student ID number. Please memorize this number, as faculty, staff at UNMC may ask for this to pull up your student record/information. You will be asked to include this numbers on forms you submit.

6. The College of Public Health has a limited number of Non-Resident Tuition Scholarships available to award students who are not residents of Nebraska. The scholarships are awarded competitively on the basis of scholarship and academic performance. If you are an International student or not a resident of Nebraska, you are eligible to apply.

8. Macori student health insurance is automatically billed each semester to your student account. If you do not wish to participate in the University plan through Macori, you must file a waiver verifying alternative insurance.

Important dates to remember:

1. Monday, July 1, 2013: Immunizations due to UNMC’s Student Health

2. Thursday, June 17, 2013: Non-resident tuition scholarship applications due to Office of Educational Services.

3. Wednesday, August 21, 2013: All incoming students are required to attend a mandatory half day IPE-Inter-professional Education Orientation. More information to follow.

4. Thursday & Friday, August 22 & 23, 2013: College of Public Health New Student Orientation, attendance is required. More information to follow.

5. Monday, August 26, 2013: Fall 2013 semester begins.

6. Monday, September 2, 2013: Official final transcripts from all previously attended institutions are due to the Office of Educational Services.
