The Department of Epidemiology offers the Epidemiology concentration for the MPH degree.  A PhD in Epidemiology is planned for the fall of 2012.

The Epidemiology MPH concentration is designed to meet the needs of those individuals who currently work in public health as well as those who wish to embark on a career in the field.  The concentration provides the tools needed to conceptualize a public health problem, to design an epidemiological study, to collect and analyze data, and to interpret and report the results of a study.

The PhD in Epidemiology will prepare students to be outstanding scholars, researchers, and leaders in the field of epidemiology.   Students will gain a broad foundation of key concepts in epidemiology and pursue focused research in a specific substantive area. Graduates will be prepared for positions in government agencies, education, and the private sector in Nebraska, as well as nationally and internationally.  The PhD is currently under development and is expected open in 2012.
