Ms. Brink is an interested and active community leader in York, NE.
 
Ms. Brink is a graduate of Grand Island, NE Senior High School. Her education includes a BA from Hastings College, Hastings, NE and a MS from Fort Hays University in Hays, KS. 

Currently, Ms. Brink is the chairperson for the Nebraska State Association for Local Boards of Health (SALBOH). She serves on the Program Committee and the Advocacy Committee for the National Association for Local Boards of Health (NALBOH). Ms. Brink is on the board of directors of the Public Health Association of Nebraska (PHAN). She is the President of the board of directors of the Four Corners Health Department, serving Butler, Polk, Seward and York counties. For her work in public health, she has recently received the 2009 PHAN Service Award and the 2010 Midwest Regional Director Award from NALBOH.

Ms. Brink is a year 4 scholar of the Great Plains Public Health Leadership Institute. She is also an active member of the Nebraska Public Health Practice-Based Research Network Steering Committee and the Workforce Development Committee for the accreditation of the College of Public Health. She served on the steering committee for Healthy People Nebraska 2020.
 
As an elected official on the York City Council for 18 years, Ms. Brink serves as Vice President of the City Council and Chairwoman of the Ordinance Committee for the City of York. She has served on the advisory board of the Parks and Recreation department.
 
In addition to public health and city government, Ms. Brink has been involved in the York County Economic Development Corporation and the York Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador and as a member of the Business and Retention Committee with the Main Street revitalization project. Ms. Brink also serves on the York Senior Center board of directors.

After 37 years with the York Public Schools, in York, NE, Ms. Brink retired in 2007. She left teaching to allow for increased time and effort in other areas of challenge and interest.  Her husband, Tom is also retired from YPS. They have made York their family home for nearly 41 years. The Brinks’ enjoy their three adult children and five grandchildren.
