Education about health disparities is extremely important. In fact, the Institute of Medicine’s report, Unequal Treatment, found that all in the healthcare field should have cross-cultural training and that health disparities should be integrated into the educational curriculum of future healthcare providers.
The Center is working to increase awareness of health disparities and discover solutions to achieve health equity through exemplary teaching of graduate courses, capacity building and training, and educational presentations across the 4C’s, Center, College, Campus, and Community. The Center seeks to cultivate leaders in health equity both internally and throughout the community.
