Mission

The mission of the Center for Reducing Health Disparities (CRHD) is to increase awareness of, reduce, and ultimately eliminate health disparities to promote health equity by (1) fostering culturally and linguistically competent, trustworthy, and equitable partnerships between the University of Nebraska Medical Center and stakeholder communities and (2) to promote health and prevent disease by building a strong portfolio in collaborative community based research, education, and service.

Vision

The vision of the Center for Reducing Health Disparities (CRHD) is to become the premier Center of Excellence in the Midwest and nationwide to improve public health, eliminate health disparities, and achieve health equity.

 

Critical Success Factors

  • Infrastructure: Build capacity and infrastructure to address health disparities
  • Research: Develop and increase health disparities research, programs, and activities
  • Community Engagement: Leverage community support through engaging partners
  • Education: Increase knowledge about health disparities including causes, preventative techniques, and interventions
