Dean of COPHPublic Health is a foundation upon which human well being and prosperity can be established, both for individuals and populations. It integrates biophysical, quantitative, socio-behavioral, legislative, and managerial sciences into a common, professional, multidisciplinary domain.

The College of Public Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center promotes scholarship through education, research, and practice. It achieves these goals through innovative thinking, community needs assessment, program and policy development, and evaluation. The College of Public Health aims to promote and sustain healthy communities locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. We help create environments that foster collaboration between students, faculty, and the community in a mutually enriching learning experience.

The College offers training in specialized disciplines of quantitative sciences (epidemiology and biostatistics), environmental and occupational health, health behavior and health promotion, health services administration, and health policy. The College’s diverse faculty continually demonstrate academic leadership in their fields and share their expertise with our students and community partners. Graduates from the College of Public Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center are the strongest evidence of excellence in the quality of our programs. Our alumni are confidently achieving leadership roles in the field of public health.

This is an exciting moment in the history of public health. Our profession is positioned to engage long-standing and tenacious problems that have challenged populations for centuries. Public health sciences are offering new answers, for the first time, to problems that have impeded human progress.

Come join us at UNMC College of Public Health and be part of this change.

Dean Ayman El-Mohandes, M.B.B.Ch., M.D., M.P.H.
