Daniel Blanke, PhD is the Chair of the Department of Health Promotion, Social and Behavioral Health in College of Public Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is also the Director of the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Dr. Blanke received his bachelors degree in Physical Education from the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse. His masters degree in Anatomy, Growth and Development and Research and PhD degree in Anatomy and Kinesiology are from the University of Oregon. As a faculty member at UNO for over 30 years, Dr. Blanke has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. He has over 25 refereed publications and has contributed to over 10 book chapters. His grant funding exceeds 1.6 million dollars. Dr. Blanke spent his formative years in east central Wisconsin, but has lived in Omaha for more than half his life. Dr. Blanke and his wife Kathy have two grown children.
