Education:

    B.A., psychology, 1965, Harvard University.
    Ph.D., philosophy, 1972, University of Washington.


Current Research:

Dr. Jameton is currently teaching and conducting research on global ethical issues in health care and public health, such as equality, environment, ecological medicine, and global climate change.

    With Jessica Pierce. The Ethics of Environmentally Responsible Health Care (Oxford University Press, 2004)
    Nursing Practice: the Ethical Issues (Prentice-Hall, 1984)


Teaching:

He teaches the Ethics in Health Care course and supervises graduate students in the MSIA PhD program. He has initiated courses titled Philosophy and History of Public Health, and Climate Change, Sustainability, and Public Health. He is helping to build a course on professionalism and cultural competence.


Service:
    Planning committees at the new College of Public Health for the environmental Ph.D. program, and for the new Center for Humanities, Health, and Society, and others. Medical Ethics and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees. Board Chair, City Sprouts, an inner city community gardening project.
