Mohammad Siahpush, PhD
Professor
Mohammad Siahpush has a PhD in Sociology from the Ohio State University
and a Master of Biostatistics from University of Melbourne, Australia. His past research contribution
to public health has mainly been in the field of social determinants of health and tobacco control,
as outlined below:
- Documenting the association between socioeconomic position and smoking.
- Elucidating the mechanism of the link between social disadvantage and smoking.
- Investigating the relationship between financial stress, smoking and smoking-induced deprivation.
- Understanding how smoking is related to health disparities and social inequality.
- Examining the differential impact of population level interventions on smoking behavior.
- Reporting the effect of smoke-free policies on revenues in the hospitality industry.
