Mission

The mission of the MSHRC is to provide a vibrant and robust research enterprise focused on sexual health and wellbeing that provides the opportunity for students and faculty to broaden their horizons in sexual health scholarship and take advantage of the research opportunities in the Midlands.

Vision

The MSHRC envisions a world in which all humans experience sexual well-being through a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence (adapted from World Health Organizations’ definition of sexual health).

Goals

The goals of the MSHRC are to:

• Facilitate collaboration among faculty and students from across the University of Nebraska system with a shared scholarly interest in sexual health and wellbeing
• Provide educational opportunities in sexual health research for students
• Serve as the premier resource in sexual health research for communities in the Midlands
• Foster transdisciplinary sexual health research
