The Great Plains Public Health Leadership Institute (GPPHLI) is a regional, year-long program designed to build and enhance the leadership skills of senior and emerging leaders in organizations whose primary mission is to improve the health and well-being of populations and communities.


The triangle or Delta is a universal symbol for change. The Great Plains Public Health Leadership Institute cultivates leaders for tomorrow by strengthening public health leadership at the individual, organizational, transorganizational /systems levels. Its overarching goals are to:

  • Assure and enhance leadership knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies in the public health workforce of the Great Plains region.
  • Increase the value of public health within communities through greater leadership in action.
  • Expand relationships among public health leaders in our region.
