Dr. Linville has been active nationally and internationally in the field of veterinary medicine for over 25 years. Over the past 19 years, he has held a number of public health veterinary positions in the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service(FSIS); including positions in the Office of Field Operations (OFO) and in the Office of Policy and Program Development (OPPD).
Dr. Linville is currently located in Omaha, Nebraska and holds a senior staff position in FSISOPPD's Policy Development Division (PDD) as a policy advisor and developer and is actively participating in major FSIS initiatives to improve food safety public health in the United States. Some of Dr. Linville’s past positions include: Senior Staff Officer at the FSIS Technical Service Center; Supervisory Veterinary Medical Officer in FSIS-OFO; President of NAFV’s Alabama Chapter; NAFV south-east District Coordinator, member of NAFV’s Board of Directors; Student representative to the UN Master of Public Health (MPH) program; and member of the UN MPH Graduate Program Committee.
Dr. Linville’s academic credentials include a medicus veterinarius (med. vet.) degree from the Ludwig Maximillian's University in Munich, Germany; and a Master of Public Health in Community Health Education from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Linville is a graduate of the GPPHLI and is a professional member of the NAFV and the Society of Public Health Leaders. Dr. Linville is board certified in public health by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.Dr. Linville has a wife, Wendy, and a daughter, Andrea. He enjoys photography, reading, biking,and computers.
