Faculty members in the Center for Health Policy Analysis and Rural Health Research (the Center), previously known as Nebraska Center for Rural Health Research, lead research teams that study how health care and public health services are financed, organized, and delivered and how public policies affect the health and well-being of populations.

Serving as a vehicle for interdisciplinary research comprised of faculty from the College of Public Health, the UNMC campus, and other community and practice collaborators, the Center functions as a long-standing conduit of information on emerging issues in public health and health services at local, state, and national levels. Research areas that the Center is currently or has been involved in include: public health services and systems research (PHSSR), health care workforce, rural health care providers, health care access, health economics, program evaluation, Veterans Administration research, a joint public health data center between UNMC and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, comparative effectiveness research, and health disparities.
