My clinical and research interests include the examination of the role of the gut in multiple organ failure and the use of biomarkers in predicting which critically injured patients are at risk for developing multiple organ failure.

My national vision is for the Department of Surgery to be at the forefront of changes to shape the approach and management of patients suffering from surgical diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, cancer or coronary artery disease.
