Dr. Weining Zhen

Weining (Ken) Zhen, MD, is a professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology of the UNMC College of Medicine.

He holds courtesy appointments in the UNMC Cepartment of Otolaryngology and the UNMC  College of Allied Health Professions.

He previously served on the faculty of the University of Iowa.

Dr. Zhen has been actively involved in residency education and received the Teacher of the Year Award at the University of Iowa in 1998 and University of Nebraska in 2017 and 2021.

His primary clinical interests are head and neck, lung and skin cancers.

Dr. Zhen’s research efforts are primarily focused on participating in clinical trials, mainly corporative trials such as NRG, ECOG, NCCTG, industry-sponsored clinical trials, etc.
