Medical Physics Resident Position:

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) has an opening for therapeutic medical physics residency position. This is a CAMPEP accredited two-year program that emphasizes clinical excellence and professional development in Radiation Oncology Physics. The structure of the residency program is well-defined with both didactic courses and “hands-on” clinical rotations.  Residents are required to pass both areas and are expected to become an integral part of the Department by performing clinical duties while interacting closely with the entire physics faculty (currently six physicists and five dosimetrists) and staff in an academic center. Graduating residents receive a certificate of completion and are expected to be well-prepared for a career in clinical Medical Physics. Applicants must have a PhD or MS degree in Medical Physics, Physics or related fields. Preference is given to graduates of CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics programs but all qualified candidates will be considered in the review process. A complete application includes: A) a cover letter that contains a personal statement, B) a curriculum vitae, C) three letters of reference, and D) an official transcript covering the applicant’s graduate education. The deadline to submit an application is December 31, 2009. Submit application materials to:
