The mission of the Department of Radiation Oncology is to continue development of a comprehensive Radiation Oncology Department that distinguishes itself in the delivery of clinical care and strives to enhance the development of research initiatives and to support the educational needs of the College of Medicine and the School of Allied Health.
Vision:
The intermediate 3-year vision of the Radiation Oncology Department is to provide leadership in clinical patient care by employing new technology and innovative techniques. The desired results would be realized in the improvement of patient outcomes.
Parallel to the development of the clinical program, would be the further development of the research programs. This would then offer the future opportunities for translational research to be accomplished with other departments.
The department would encourage opportunities for interaction with students in the College of Medicine and the School of Allied Health, along with resident physicians.
The overall vision is to develop into a program that brings national recognition to the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Eppley Cancer Institute.
