Undergraduate Public Health Workshop

Weeklong undergraduate public health workshop

This weeklong workshop is designed to immerse students into the multidisciplinary world of public health.  Through interactive classroom experiences and field trips to rural and urban public health practice sites, students are offered the opportunity to interact with professionals in the field.  As part of this workshop students also form  into teams upon identifying a public health interest of their choice, conduct a literature review, and write a paper which they present to UNMC faculty prior to graduation from the program.  Students pay tuition to their undergraduate college for the course and receive college credit from their undergraduate institution. UNMC provides housing, most meals, classroom materials, instruction and consultant speakers.

Class of 2013, 16 undergraduate students participate in interactive weeklong public health workshop. CoPH faculty challenge students to help brainstorm solutions for issues related to social determinants of health. Proud workshop participants excited about getting ready to present summary of their group project. Welcome to the College of Public Health.
