Science Teacher Retreat

Though a partnership with the state department of education and ESU 10, the RHEN office provided a capstone program of 60 hours over a two-week period for 17 high school science teachers from 16 rural Nebraska school districts.

The two-week workshop took place at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (first week) and at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Campus (second week).  Teachers learned new science teaching methods and improved their inquiry skills in order to expand their science curriculum.

This workshop is a great opportunity in providing science experiences to Nebraska’s rural teachers, as well as a chance to gain resources and learn from one another.

If you are a science teacher and would like  information about how you can be a part of this program, email lbronner@unmc.edu or call (402) 559-8106.
