2007 AgroMedicine Workshop |
The Rural Health Education Network (RHEN) aims to prepare future health-care professionals
for all aspects of their careers.
As part of the program, pre-medicine, pre-physician assistant, and pre-nursing students from colleges
throughout the state participate in a one-week workshop at the University of Nebraska Medical Center that introduces them to issues in providing health care in rural communities.
A combination of lectures, presentations, shadowing experiences and rural health site visits make up the five-day workshop. As a final project for the week, students use the knowledge they gain from the week and through research to develop a final presentation, which pertains to rural health issues in Nebraska. The presentations are given on Friday.
For more information about the AgroMedicine Workshop, contact Ann Kraft at akraft@unmc.edu or (402) 559-3398.
