What is Simulation?

According to David Gaba in his article "The Future Vision of Simulation in Healthcare." Qual Saf Health Care 2004: 13(Suppl 1):i2-i10 "Simulation is a technique-not a technology-to replace or amplify patient experiences with guided experiences, artificially contrived, that evoke or replicate substantial aspects of the real world in a fully interactive manner."

         What are High-fidelity simulators?

High-fidelity simulators offers the opportunity to work with training models that can react in realistic ways to the learner's treatments and/or interventions. These simulators provide the learners with an immersive, hands-on experience. The high-fidelity mannequin replicates authentic patient issues in a safe, non-threatening environment for students. The mannequin can provide a standard representation of a condition consistently for students to repeat a treatment or intervention numerous times to build student skill and confidence.
