Each year we have a Welcome Barbeque the evening before the program begins. This gives scholars, SMDEP faculty and staff, and UNMC faculty an opportunity to get acquainted. We also have a 4th of July cookout and scholar talent show, as well as a banquet and dance at the end of the program. Additionally, throughout the program, students have numerous opportunities to attend other events and attractions in the Omaha area, including but not limited to:
