Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)
Welcome to the UNMC Summer Undergraduate Research web site. This program is a great opportunity for students to discover first-hand the broad spectrum of research activities being performed at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. It also provides research and training experiences to enable the student to be highly competitive for admission to a graduate program here at UNMC.
If you are an undergraduate and are interested in participating in a research project at UNMC, check out the participating departments and complete the on-line application.
International students who are currently on an F1 visa in the United States can apply to the program providing they have the proper documentation and summer school at their home institution is not required to maintain full-time student status. The student must have a letter of permission to work from their home institution, have a notation on their I-20 that they are eligible to work or have an Employment Authorization Document card. This documentation must be presented to the department. International students who are not currently in the U.S. and on an F1 visa, are not be eligible for the program because of visa restrictions.
