Dr. Agrawal is an Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Agrawal specializes in spinal cord injury. The research in his laboratory focuses on cellular and molecular mechanisms of neuroprotective strategies and neuropharmacological interventions for the treatment of spinal cord trauma. This involves the study of electrical properties of spinal cord in normal and pathological states. Of particular interests are the mechanisms of membrane ion channel regulation by excitatory amino acids and immune mediators in relation to second messengers.
Dr. Agrawal received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Lucknow, India. He then went on to complete his masters in pharmacology and Ph.D in neuropharmacology, both at the University of Lucknow, India. Dr. Agrawal is a native of Lucknow, India.
