Goals for Chiefs and Divisions

The Department of Surgery supports and encourages our Divisions to embody the Mission both the Department and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. 

To facilitate this, we have outlined and strive to achieve four goals:

Goal 1: Pursue state-of-the-art advances in clinical care, education, and research

Goal 2: Be leaders, advocates, mentors, and role models for the Department of Surgery

Goal 3: Train the next generation of surgeons and surgical scientists

Goal 4: Be fiscally responsible
