TRAUMA/CRITICAL CARE SURGEON
The Trauma/Surgical Critical Care Service at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is accepting applications for an Academic BC/BE General Surgeon who has completed a fellowship in Trauma and is a candidate for or has completed certification in Critical Care. Responsibilities will include clinical care, education and research. Interested candidates should also have a strong interest in teaching residents and medical students. If desired, the candidate may also have an opportunity to participate in the care of burn patients.
The Trauma/Critical Care Service has four full-time faculty and three part-time faculty. The Nebraska Medical Center admits over 1200 trauma patients per year with 8% that are penetrating trauma. The main teaching hospital has a capacity of 421 beds. The General Surgery Residency has four categorical positions at each level.
