Dr. Patil is a Professor of the Division of Neurosurgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons in 1980, he specializes in stereotactic surgery, brachytherapy and epilepsy therapy. Dr. Patil has a strong interest in the treatment of Parkinson's Disease and is well known for the Patil Stereotactic System II.
Dr. Patil earned his medical degree from St. John's Medical College, Bangalore, India, where he also served his internship. He completed his residency at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. Dr. Patil is a native of Bombay, India.
