Peyronie's disease

Peyronie's disease is the painful non-lateral curvature of the penis upon erection caused by scarring or plaque inside the penis.

Possible cause:

• Injury

Symptoms:

• Pain during erection
• Penile narrowing or shortening
• Curvature of penis
• Soft erections

Treatment goal:

• Pain relief
• Straightening of the penis

Treatment modalities:

• Medication
• Surgerical options:plaque removal, reduction of the curvature by shortening the penis on the opposite side of the curvature, prosthesis implantation
