A voiding diary will help determine a child's functional bladder capacity. That capacity will then be compared to the "normal" for the child's age.

The diary should be kept for five days. - Consecutive days are not necessary.

A specipan, obtained from a pharmacy or a hospital supply store, may be used to obtain measurements. (Bowel movements should also be logged when they occur and if they are unusually large.)Specipan
