- Hi, I'm Jeff Gold, and I've got some really exciting news to share today. The values for Nebraska Medicine and UNMC have now been completed. Well over 100 members of our organization from all aspects came together to build our new set of values that we now call ITEACH, and I'm so grateful for all of you who have worked so hard to make this possible. We have six members of the organization, each of which is going to take a different letter, each of which is going to explain what that important value is. It helps build our future, just like our mission, just like our vision. Having a single set of core values will build the future that we will be proud of. Thanks to all of you, and now, let's turn it over to our colleagues. - Hi, I'm Megan Doyle. I'm a graduate of the Class of 2016 College of Pharmacy. The I in ITEACH stands for innovation. Innovation is the search for a better way. Seek and implement ideas and approaches that can change the way the world discovers, teaches and heals. Drive transformational change. - My name is Cornelia Remesh and I am a project manager with the Project Management Office at Nebraska Medicine. The T in ITEACH stands for teamwork. Teamwork. Respect diversity and one another. Communicate effectively and listen well. Be approachable and courteous. There's no limit to what we can achieve when we work together. - Hello, my name is Ernestine Cook. I'm an instructor at the University of Nebraska College of Nursing. The E in ITEACH stands for excellence. To strive for the highest standards of safety and quality in all that you do to work to achieve exceptional results. - My name is Michael Wittmeyer. I am an accounting analyst with Finance at Nebraska Medicine. The A in ITEACH stands for accountability. Accountability. Commitment. Take ownership. Be resilient, transparent and honest. Always do the right thing and continuously learn. - Hello, my name is Angela Hayes, employee relations specialist with UNMC Human Resources. And the C in ITEACH stands for courage. Courage. Making tough decisions. Have no fear of failure in the pursuit of excellence. Admit mistakes and learn from them. - My name is Annette Dorsey and I'm a team leader on Five West at Nebraska Medicine. And H stands for healing. Healing. Show the empathy you feel. Be selfless and caring for patients, one another and the community. - So you've just heard about all of the individual values. You're going to be hearing a lot more about those in the coming sessions of programs and various other communications from us. We're really excited about having the ability to finally have a single set of goal or visions and goals for both UNMC and Nebraska Medicine together. - We want to thank each and every one of the team members who came together to develop the values. We want to thank the senior executive teams from both UNMC and Nebraska Medicine for validating that work and helping to inform it moving forward. And as has been mentioned over the next several weeks, you'll be receiving lots of information specific to each of these values that really articulate what we believe in and who we best believe we are. - So ITEACH is clearly reflective of what we are and it is what we certainly will continue to aspire to be now and well into the future. - Thanks again and we are really looking forward to getting these values throughout the health system, throughout the university. And again, congratulations to everyone on the great work.
