The Nebraska Medicine Infection Control & Epidemiology Department provides services to University of Nebraska Medical Center to serve the needs of the organization. Development of policies and procedures in order to comply with various regulatory demands, assessing compliance, providing education, and serving as an infection control resource to the UNMC community are some of the services provided through the Infection Control & Epidemiology Department.
We are dedicated to managing waste in a manner designed to protect patients, employees, students, contractors, visitors and volunteers, as well as the environment. Policies and procedures have been standardized so that practices of handling and preparing biohazardous waste are the same everywhere on campus.
