Becoming a Volunteer Faculty at UNMC
Volunteer Faculty status at UNMC is granted to individuals on a case-by-case basis.
The person requesting volunteer status may send a letter of request to the respective department chair or division director.
The department then creates a “Volunteer Faculty Agreement and Release Form” (Employment Agreement) for their unit and obtains the signature of the department chair/division director. The department prepares their portion of the “Volunteer Faculty Hire Form” then sends both forms to the prospective volunteer faculty person who signs the agreement and fills out/signs the new hire form then returns both documents, along with a copy of their cv, to the department.
The department routes the Volunteer Faculty Agreement and Release Form for the appropriate signatures then routes the Volunteer Faculty Hire Form to the appropriate person for entry into SAP. The new hire form, cv, volunteer faculty agreement and release form are to be uploaded into the faculty member’s record in ADIS by the person who enters it in SAP.
** As of August 11, 2017, Academic Services will no longer upload the Volunteer Faculty Agreement and Release Form into the faculty member’s record in ADIS.
