What do you do at UNMC?
I am responsible for quality scholarship for faculty, residents, and medical students in the OHNS department. This includes managing research projects, assisting with planning and design, navigating data collection and analysis, and writing/publishing assistance. In addition to 1:1 mentoring, I develop materials and programs to support research education.
Tell us about your educational research interests and teaching role.
My education research interests focus on program development, assessment, and simulated learning.
What is one of your favorite/memorable teaching moments?
My absolute favorite memories involve celebrating with medical students when their first-author manuscript has been published. It's an amazing feeling of accomplishment for these young writers.
What do you see as the biggest benefit to being a member of the IAE?
I enjoy meeting colleagues from other departments and colleges. The IAE is one of the only opportunities I have to make connections and develop relationships with educators across the University of Nebraska system.
What's something about you that not many people know?
I consider myself an AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) and am slightly obsessed with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
