[MUSIC PLAYING] SPEAKER 1: Did you see that? SPEAKER 2: Yeah. SPEAKER 1: So there's the knee. LAUREN SCHIEFELBEIN: We're having Backstage Pass, which is a get-together of 200, 300 high school students, sometimes middle school students, where we get to showcase the different fields presented in the College of Allied Health and Nursing. SPEAKER 1: Can you guys hear it? Yeah. LAUREN SCHIEFELBEIN: They get to interact with current students, with current faculty to really ask the questions that maybe they don't necessarily get the chance to at a career fair. SPEAKER 3: Med school is long, but a lot of people like that. And they want to learn as much as possible. SPEAKER 4: I definitely just learned about the different career paths and the time it takes to go into school. And it definitely just opened my eyes up to more opportunities in the medical field. SPEAKER 1: Listen to his lungs. SPEAKER 5: It's just really cool being able to see all the things that we've been able to do, and all the new technology that I've never seen before. SPEAKER 6: If you turn 90 degrees-- LAUREN SCHIEFELBEIN: Nowadays, I think high schoolers are truly deciding what they want to be and whether or not that path includes a way to college. So being able to present these sorts of careers to them at that high school level allows them to consider all the careers they could go into to make the decision, what do I want to go to college for? SPEAKER 7: Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go. SPEAKER 8: Coming here and seeing what they tell you about it before actually doing it hands-on, I feel like they do a pretty good job at it. LAUREN SCHIEFELBEIN: Do you want to try your hand at sorting yourself? I look forward to backstage pass every fall and every spring. [VIDEO LOGO]
