HPTT Curriculum

The Plan of Study for the master's includes 30 credit hours made up of 15 hours of required* core courses, 12 hours of electives and 3 hours of capstone courses. The faculty advisor will work with the student to select an appropriate combination of elective courses to complete their Individual Plan of Study. Students seeking a certificate choose four of the core courses. Students are allowed up to five years to complete their program of study.

Degree seeking students may choose any four of the above elective courses. Credit for applicable outside courses will be accepted with approval of the student’s advisor or program committee.
* Required for master's degree.

Academic Progress
Students enrolled in the HPTT Program are expected to make satisfactory academic progress toward the completion of their Individual Plan of Study and degree requirements. All courses must be passed with a grade of “B-” or better and a 2.7 cumulative grade point average (GPA) must be maintained throughout enrollment in the program. Courses may be repeated only once. A cumulative GPA below 2.7 at the completion of any semester may result in dismissal from the program.

Degree Completion
Upon successful completion of HPTT Program, students will receive a diploma and graduation information from UNMC Student Services. Students must be awarded a minimum of 30 credit hours by the UNMC Office of Academic Records in order to be eligible to graduate from UNMC.

Diplomas are issued three times each year - May, August and December - dependent upon the student's completion of all requirements set by the Program.  Graduates of the HPTT Program are welcome to participate in the graduation ceremonies in Omaha, Nebraska (May and December only).
