Clinical Affiliation Sites

The UNMC Medical Nutrition Education Division has clinical affiliation agreements with specified organizations to provide quality experiential learning opportunities for MMN students.

Nebraska Medicine – The nutrition therapy supervised learning experiences are provided at Nebraska Medicine, the primary clinical teaching site for UNMC. The clinical preceptors are experienced Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapists with academic appointments in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions. This academic medical center setting provides a unique and stimulating interprofessional learning environment.

Hy Vee – Students complete supervised experiences with Registered Dietitian Nutritionists in the Hy Vee retail marketplace. These experiences include media, marketing, nutrition tours in the grocery store, cooking classes and varied seasonal promotions. These are unique and valued experiences that promote interaction within the community.

Douglas County Health Department – Students complete supervised experiences in the Women, Infant and Children’s (WIC) Program. In these community settings, students work with healthy children and pregnant women to promote optimal nutrition and address challenges related to food security.
