Application Process for the Physician Assistant Program
The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) PA program participates in the Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA). Applications, recommendation forms, and Transcript Matching Forms may be obtained from the CASPA website starting around May 1st of each calendar year.

Applicants to the Physician Assistant program must have a completed application to be considered for admission. All application materials must be sent to CASPA or uploaded to the application. A completed application contains the following:
- UNMC CASPA application – click the “Apply Now” button on the right to complete the application
- Application Fees
- Course work entry – course work from all institutions attended must be entered into the online application. Make sure to have copies of unofficial transcripts in front of you as you complete the application.
- Essay/ Personal Statement –write a brief statement expressing your motivation or desire to become a physician assistant.
- Resume/CV – Add experiences, achievements and other resume and CV information in Supporting Information section of the application.
- Experiences includes employment & volunteer
- Achievements includes honors, awards, publications and scholarships
- Licenses and Certifications
- References/ Evaluations – Three letters of reference are required. Applicants will provide the email addresses of their recommenders. Recommenders will submit their reference online through the application.
- Questions – answer additional questions in the Program Materials section of the application
- Transcripts – It is strongly suggested that transcripts be requested no later than two weeks before the deadline to allow for processing. CASPA accepts electronic and physical official transcripts. Physical official transcripts should be mailed directly from each institution to:
