Jillian Cascini, BS, SCT(ASCP)CM

Following her Cytology graduation, Ms. Cascini worked for a private lab in Wisconsin while serving patient populations in North-Central Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for nearly eight years. After three years of required full time employment, she successfully passed the Specialist in Cytology exam in 2017 by studying independently. The laboratory she was employed at was contracted with a large regional hospital network in addition to several community hospitals as part of their network and had private partnerships with specialty clinics (gastrointestinal and ear, nose, throat), which enabled her to function as a Cytologist with roles as both a hospital/procedure-focused Cytologist and as a reference lab based Cytologist. In addition to an extensive history of performing routine cancer screenings like the Pap Smear, she also brings comprehensive knowledge in the evaluation of body fluids for malignancy/infection/inflammatory conditions, intraoperative adequacy evaluations done bedside, intraoperative Rapid On Site Evaluations done bedside and performance of molecular tests like HPV/Gonorrhea/Chlamydia testing.
Ms. Cascini has a passion for Cytology, student learning and transitioned to the educational side of the Cytology field to develop new competent and confident Cytologists for the furtherment of the profession.
