We are no longer enrolling participants in the Heartland Osteoporosis Prevention Study. Check back here for upcoming bone health research opportunities.
Women can lose up to 20% of their bone density during the first years of menopause.
The goal of the Heartland Osteoporosis Prevention Study (HOPS) is to evaluate the best way to prevent bone loss in women during the first five years of menopause. This study will compare recommended Calcium and Vitamin D intake to bone-preserving medication or exercise. Screen yourself to see if you are eligible for the study by clicking on the button on the right side of this page. If you pre-qualify for the study and wish to participate in the screening process, a Research Project Coordinator will contact you for further information.
