The simulation program at UNMC is a regional leader in interactive, multidisciplinary education. We strive to provide students, residents and practitioners with a state-of-the-art, immersive educational experience. Through research and training programs, we continue to promote the highest quality of patient care and safety.
The primary aims of the MSTL are:
- Educate residents, medical students and current practitioners using simulation and technology to create a richer learning environment.
- Innovate and promote new methodologies for medical education utilizing simulation and technology.
- Examine medical education through research.
Simulation exercises take place in the Michael F. Sorrell Clinical Simulation Lab. This 7750 square foot, state-of-the-art facility provides multiple environments to provide a realistic simulation experience. The recently added Dr. Wayne and Eileen Ryan Surgical Simulation Suite offers participants a complete modern operating room equipped with wireless mannequin technology amd full audio and video playback.
