Antipsychotic medications are widely used not only to treat psychosis, but also mood and other disorders.  Among the long-term effects of these medications are weight gain, diabetes, and dyslipidemia.  These metabolic side effects pose a major risk to patients and are not always addressed appropriately.  This webinar will examine the nature and consequences of these metabolic changes, clarify the relative risk of individual medications, and outline steps that can be taken to monitor and mitigate the problem.

This activity targets prescribers who treat patients with depression, to include primary care, internal medicine, family practice, psychiatric, and pediatric providers, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
