Following UNMC guidelines, all students, instructors, and staff will be asked to:
- Self-screen prior to coming in, ideally using the 1-Check COVID mobile app that can evaluate risk and give advice as to what to do based on risk
- Socially distance and wear a face covering (cloth or surgical) while on campus. Students are required to bring own face covering in order to be admitted to class
- Ensure strict, effective and frequent hand hygiene
STATEMENT FROM THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS REGARDING ATLS EXPIRATION DATES:
The Committee on Trauma (COT) is currently aware that ATLS course are being cancelled and that this has created some problems in terms of (a) provider credentialing and (b) surgical resident eligibility for ABS exams. The present approach being explored is – for people whose ATLS status expires in 2020, it will be extended for one year.

ATLS
The Advanced Trauma Life Support® (ATLS) is a program developed by the American College of Surgeons and its Committee on Trauma. The program provides systemic and concise training for the early care of trauma patients.
Enrollment is limited to the first 16 participants.
