About 1 in 8 American women is diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women in the USA. There have been significant advances in screening and management of breast cancer in recent years, and updated staging and treatment guidelines have been released. This webinar will focus on the diagnosis and management of breast cancer and high risk benign breast disease.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this webinar, the participant should be better able to:

  1. Identify breast screening criteria for average and high risk patients
  2. Review changes in breast cancer staging in the AJCC 8th edition
  3. Explain the rationale for surgical consultation in high risk benign lesions
  4. Review surgical options for treatment and their applicability to specific patients
  5. Recognize the importance of multidisciplinary care
